2009 Spectator Information

Our unique Start/Finish area provides multiple viewing points, as well as an excellent "ground zero" for all your marathon excitement. Whether you are running, volunteering, or just watching the show, RFK Stadium will be the center for all things National Marathon! For more information, see below for Viewing Stations.

RFK Stadium opened in October 1961 as District of Columbia Stadium

DC Armory is located right next the RKF Stadium; complete with a grass mall, which is the location of our Runners Village

What to eat!

With a few dotted restraunts around the Capital Mall, along with food venders throughout the area, you certaining will not go without your morning meal.

Go National!

The Capital Mall area provides all your viewing needs at the core of the race course. With the Capital Building, Lincoln Memorial, George Washington Monument, the Smithsonian, and of course the White House, you will be sure to see the history of the great country all in one stop.

What to eat!

You are stretched out over the whole top half of the course. So make sure you stop in the Adams Morgan district and sample foods from all over the globe.

Go National!

Howard University as well as Trinity College are both located within blocks of the course. The race course also will take runners through the Adams Morgan district, and right in front of the Childrens National Medical Center. Nearby is the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

What to eat!

The area around the new Nationals Stadium is booming every day with new shops and new restraunts. Whether you need a pick me up at Starbucks or a hearty sandwich, you will be in luck.

Go National!

There's no better way to go "National" then the brand new Washington Nationals ballpark. Also near by is Fort McNair, boisting a 200+ year history. Miles 20 to 21 will take you on to the historic Anacostia Riverwalk Trail.
